Someone asked me why I chose the pic in my header…
It’s a picture from a trip I took to a place called “Antelope Canyon” near Page, Arizona. People come from thousands of miles away to get pictures of the light rays that filter into the slot canyons.
My brother gave me an old camera of his (he’s a great photographer!) and an old tripod. I caught this pic in a lonely stretch of the canyon before others came around the corner for the shot:
As you can see, I used the bottom part as the pic for the site header.
Why did I use it? Besides just looking generally nice, it has the feeling of this site . It makes me think that no matter how dark, solid, or hard the walls look, and no matter how unstable the ground beneath, there is always a ray of hope shining. And that’s the spirit. Through discipline, joy, an open mind, and some spiritual practices, we can always have that ray of light shining through.
